Accessibility and reader choice
The features available today, and the testing that still needs to be completed.
Available features
- Semantic document headings, lists, links, and supported tables.
- Labelled controls and visible keyboard focus.
- A contents list and continuous, section, and visual page modes.
- Adjustable text size, letter spacing, line spacing, paragraph spacing, and width.
- Light, dark, tinted, and high-contrast themes.
- Passage focus and a reading guide with button and slider controls.
- A content language attribute and Arabic text direction.
- Readable document content when JavaScript is unavailable.
Choosing settings
Preferences differ from person to person. The available fonts and colours are choices, not a guarantee of an outcome. Custom text colours can reduce contrast; reset to a built-in theme if text becomes difficult to see.
For a simpler linear reading flow, choose Continuous or Reading sections. Visual pages use browser layout and may behave differently across browsers and screen sizes.
Current validation status
Automated source, export-security, and simulated interaction checks have been run. A complete browser, mobile-file, zoom, and assistive-technology review has not yet been completed. We do not claim WCAG conformance or certification for this beta.
Known limits
- The interface is currently in English.
- Screen-reader pronunciation depends on the reader’s installed language voices.
- Local HTML opening and preference storage vary by device and browser.
- Images and embedded media are not imported in this version.
- Visual pagination and RTL layouts still need real-device validation.
Help and feedback
The reading controls guide explains navigation and keyboard operation. If you encounter a barrier, share the device, browser, assistive technology, and steps with support@cognitle.com, using non-sensitive example content where possible.
